Example 1: Funding Programs by BAFA – Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control
- Support for Energy Management Systems
- Support for Commercial Climate and Refrigeration Systems Measures
- Support for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plants
- Support for Cross-Sectional Technologies (Efficient and Rational Energy Use)
Example 2: Effizienznetz Rheinland-Pfalz (EffNet): effCheck
Under the name “EffCheck – PIUS Analyses in Rhineland-Palatinate,” up to 30 businesses, primarily medium-sized (private or municipal) enterprises, are provided with the opportunity to have their production examined for cost-saving potential by a trusted consulting firm through EffCheck. Depending on the size of the operation, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate covers up to 70% of the consulting costs for each EffCheck, up to a maximum of 4,500 euros.
The cost-saving potentials identified through EffCheck in the areas of energy, water, materials, emissions, and waste serve as the foundation for implementing operational measures within the company. Initial results from EffCheck powerfully demonstrate the hidden potential within these enterprises. EffCheck is conducted in accordance with the “®PIUS-Check” model of the Efficiency Agency of North Rhineland-Westphalia (EfA).
Since early 2007, the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry for Economic Affairs, Climate Protection, Energy, and Regional Planning has been supporting Rhineland-Palatinate companies in conducting analyses for production-integrated environmental protection (PIUS).
