Installation of the New CO₂ Refrigeration System at Peter Hünten GmbH
The starting signal for the modernisation of the refrigeration system at Peter Hünten GmbH in Löf has been given. In the first construction stage, a concrete foundation slab was poured and prepared to provide space for the new container-based CO₂ refrigeration system.
The new modules were then positioned precisely using a mobile crane. The system is a preconfigured container solution housing all central components of the new CO₂ booster refrigeration system, including compressor racks, heat exchangers, control technology and frequency converters.
The blue units shown are Bitzer compressor units combined with Carrier control technology, designed for operation with CO₂ (R744). These systems are characterised by high energy efficiency, environmental compatibility and long-term operational reliability.
The images clearly show:
- the newly constructed concrete foundation,
- delivery of the refrigeration system by low-loader truck,
- positioning of the refrigeration system using a mobile crane (Salgert / Liebherr),
- installation of the gas coolers (Güntner) on the roof of the container unit,
- and the start of piping and insulation work inside the technical room of the production facility.
This construction stage marks the transition from planning to practical implementation – a key milestone within the framework of specialist planning for commercial refrigeration systems carried out by KB KälteBeratung.
With the installation of the new CO₂ refrigeration system, the existing R404A technology is being replaced, resulting in improved energy efficiency, sustainability and operational reliability.
